We're an independent statutory body governed by a board. Our board has independent non-executive members.

Our board reports to Queensland’s Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services who monitors our performance through Service Agreements and provides state funding for our public health services.

Executive Director Clinical Services

Executive Director Allied Health

Executive Director Mental Health and Specialised Services

  • Overseeing the day to day operations of acute and community mental health services
  • Overseeing specialised services like forensics, secure services, and mental health learning and research

Executive Director Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health

Areas of responsibility
  • Improving health equity and outcomes for First Nations peoples
  • Promoting indigenous cultural practices in our hospital and health service
  • Providing cultural support and specialised programs for First Nations patients and their families

Executive Director Preventive and Prisoner Health Services

Areas of responsibility
  • Dental care and oral health services
  • Caring for public and environmental health, including reducing the spread of disease, illness and public health risks
  • Providing services and support to help people with chronic health conditions prevent further illness and reduce the need to go to hospital
  • Medical services and health care for prison and youth detention facilities in the region
