We're investing over $97 million to expand Ripley Satellite Hospital with a new facility that will help us care for more patients closer to home.

The upgrades include:

  • new overnight inpatient beds
  • free parking
  • more health services.

There may be changes to hospital entry points or parking when we're building. If you’re going to the satellite hospital, you can search our health services to check if there are any changes you need to know about.

Why we're expanding

West Moreton is the fastest growing region in Queensland. Our population is expected to grow to more than 636,000 people by 2046.

The Queensland Government is funding the expansion to make sure we meet the needs of our community, now and in the future.

We've planned the upgrades based on:

  • our medical and clinical health service needs
  • information about our population and expected growth
  • feedback and consultation with our patients and community
  • advice from builders, engineers and design experts
  • feedback from our staff, nurses, doctors and clinical experts.

What we're building

We're upgrading our buildings and services in stages.

As part of the project, we’re building:

  • a new 3 level facility with 90 beds
  • a landscaped therapy garden
  • a multi-level car park with free parking for patients, visitors and staff.

More health services will be on offer, including:

  • geriatric and palliative care
  • rehabilitation
  • sub-acute general medicine.

Get involved

We’re working with people and groups from our community to help plan the upgrades and get feedback. This includes design user groups where we co-design clinical and public spaces with architects and clinicians.

We're also working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Traditional Owners to make sure the upgrades are culturally safe.

Jobs

As we grow and finish our upgrades, we’ll need new staff members to join our team. We'll have jobs across all areas including nursing, medicine, allied health and business support.

You can search our vacancies or register your interest for future jobs when our hospital upgrades open.
