We use clinical research to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

Our Research Strategy 2021–2025 [PDF 219.06 KB] is our plan for high quality research that achieves better health now and in the future.

Our areas of research

We have 4 priorities for research to support the needs of our patients and the community.

Equitable access to health care
We're finding new ways to connect people from across the community with the health care they need.

Mental health
We're finding out what causes mental illness, how it affects people and society, and how to improve treatments, services and policies.

Digitally driven health service redesign
We're using technology and systems to improve community access to health care.

Health services
We're learning how we can offer better health services.

What we're doing

We’ve made it a priority to:

  • support our staff to use research to inform our clinical practices
  • grow and improve our research program to ensure research is safe for patients, informed by the community and promotes excellent clinical care.
  • strengthen our research partnerships in health, universities, industry and the community
  • build a capable workforce and a culture of research.
