Leaders, innovators and unsung heroes from West Moreton Health have today been recognised for their commitment to patient care at the health service’s annual Caring Better Together Awards.
From a list of almost 150-staff generated nominations, six winners were crowned at the awards ceremony at 1 Nicholas Street:
- Justin Elliot (Connect)
- Sarah Hertrick (Respect)
- Nutrition & Dietetics Department (Excel)
- Murrumba Targan Djimbulung Service (Health Equity)
- James Want (#EveryoneIsALeader)
- Suzanne Taylor (Ipswich Hospital Foundation Champion)
West Moreton Health Chief Executive Hannah Bloch said the winners, as well as two finalists in each category, had displayed the health service’s core value of providing compassionate and equitable health care.
“A huge congratulations to the Caring Better Together Award winners for 2024, who were chosen by an independent panel of judges from an extensive and impressive list of nominations,” Ms Bloch said.
“The awards are a chance to celebrate the achievements of all staff over the past 12 months, and all our nominees should be incredibly proud.
“Today’s ceremony was an opportunity for the board, executive and judges to speak with winners and finalists and personally hear their experiences and what drives them to excel in their roles.
“Winners are a mix of both frontline and operational staff who make a difference to the lives of patients every day.
“Our hard-working staff are the backbone of our health service and today is all about them.”
