Expressions of Interest now open to help shape the future of Jaghu

Read time

West Moreton Health is creating a Consumer and Community Advisory Group to support co-design, development, and ongoing delivery of our First Nations focused maternal and infant care program at Jaghu.

We’re seeking First Nations participants from the local community to join our advisory group. This program supports families from pregnancy right through to when children turn five, making sure everyone stays healthy and happy.

About Jaghu Maternal and Infant Program
Jaghu, is an Aboriginal word that means ‘all together,’ and at Jaghu, we deliver culturally responsive, community-based, family-centred care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families from early pregnancy through to five years of age.  We provide a happy, healthy environment for parents/carers and babies to thrive in. Maternity and child health care is led by a known First Nations clinician, who stays with families throughout their journey, making sure they get the support they need.

Rooted in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander definition of health, the model is driven by community-led engagement and consultation at every stage—from conception and design to implementation, reporting, and dissemination—ensuring self-determination and community governance in service delivery.

Why we need you

We want to make sure the Jaghu program is the best it can be, and that’s where you come in!  We’re looking for community members to join our Consumer and Community Advisory Group. You’ll help us design, improve and guide the program to make sure it meets the needs of our families.
