How we treat your feedback
- We share all compliments with staff and areas the feedback is about.
- We consider all suggestions and will act where we can.
- We review all complaints, and we'll let you know about any decisions or actions we take to resolve your complaint.
We value all types of feedback. You don't have to give us your contact details, but if you don't, we won't be able to respond to you.
All complaints are confidential. We don’t link them to your health record, and they won't affect the care you receive.
Read about how we keep your information safe on the Queensland Government website.
Making a complaint
You can make a complaint if you’re not happy with the service we gave you. You can also make a complaint for someone else if they agree.
Before making a formal complaint, we recommend you talk to the staff looking after you. You can also ask to speak to the manager of the health service you're at.
When you make a complaint, we'll let you know we've got it within 5 days. We’ll then review your complaint and let you know the result within 35 days.
If you’re not happy with the result, you can ask us to review your complaint or contact the Office of the Health Ombudsman.
Raise concerns about a patient's health (Ryan's Rule)
If you’re concerned about a patient in hospital who's getting worse or not improving as expected, you can use Ryan's Rule to get help.
Read more about Ryan's Rule on the Queensland Government website.
Patient experience surveys
If you've recently visited hospital, we might ask you to fill in an online survey about your experience. You'll get a text message (SMS) with a link to the survey.
